50A Ludstone Rd, Kaikoura,

Curiosity, investigation, exploration, leadership, excitement and dreams… here at Kaikoura Early Learning Centre your tamariki will develop to their fullest potential through fantastic educational care and experiences.

Our warm caring staff have developed a unique bicultural curriculum based on the 3 values KaitiakitangaManaakitanga, and Whanaugatanga  to allow children to naturally develop essential skills as they have fun through learning and play.

In a day your child may challenge themselves to get across the top of the monkey bars, swing a somersault on the hanging ropes, dig a moat in the sandpit, and float boats around their castles. They may choose to create a masterpiece to bring home using our large selection of paints, collage and drawing materials.  Stories, puzzles, blocks and trains, dress ups, and our family area all help spark the children’s imaginations.   For a special treat they may put on plays – the traditional Three Little Pigs, or more modern Brave Knight Sir Nicholas, are real favourites.

Each day tamariki are supported by teachers in preparing kai for morning tea.  We even have our own vegetable patches and orchard where the children grow and harvest their own food.  We take every opportunity to contribute to the community by doing, meals on wheels, regular visits to the local hospital spending time with the residents there and sharing produce with families and community members.

Visits to local schools offer transition to school assistance and we regularly take part in other community events.  Our children are an integral and highly valued part of our local community – we are proud to involve them and showcase their special skills and talents.  With around 30% of our tamariki recognised as tangata whenua, we have worked with local iwi to develop a pōwhiri process that all children take part in for special visitors.  Parents are always welcome and we encourage you to spend time in the centre with us whenever you are able.

Your children are special – let us help you discover their potential by enrolling your child with us today.
